A Good Week for Birthdays!

On Monday, June 25th was my brother, Greg's birthday! Here's a look at some of his childhood pictures.

I love this one because it shows my mom in one of her many different hairstyles/colors! She was such a hip mother! (In addition to one of the most self-sacrificing people I know!)

This is so great of Greg with Grandma and Grandpa Bagley. I love how he's trying to grab the cake! I have come to realize in the recent years that I believe Grandpa Bagley passed off a lot of his looks to my mom, Greg and my son, Kyle.

I adore how in love my Dad looks with Greg!

I could not resist this one because Kyle makes this same face. Cute boys and their "looks" - oh no! (I tell you, he is Greg's "mini me.")

Here is a beautiful picture of Greg with my firstborn, Audrey! He has always been so good with children. I love to watch him with my kids and all of his nieces and nephews!

And Greg with the two loves of his life! How blessed he is to have such a wonderful wife and a gorgeous baby boy! And how blessed they are to have such a loving husband and father!

Greg, this picture of us on your wedding day is so telling. I don't know what I'd do in life without you. You have always been there for me. You've always been so caring of me. You are one of the most sensitive people I know. AND you are one of the most handsome and one of the funniest people on this earth! What a great combination! Happy Late Birthday, I love ya tons!!

And the great birthday week continues! On Sunday is my cousin, Christa's b-day! Christa has always been like a sister to me! She is one of the sweetest, most compassionate girls in this world. Her name is perfect for her. She has always been a peacemaker and extremely Christ-like! I love ya, cutie! Happy Birthday!!

And also on Sunday is my best friend, Betsy's birthday! MY BETSY, what would my life had been without you! You are one of my true soul mates! I have never met anyone who has so much in common with me. Our personalities and the way we think, our talents and interests, our mannerisms - they are all almost the same. Even though we've taken different paths (you an actress and director of film, me a mommy) we have one of the most special bonds I have ever known of. I love you my fellow Drew Barrymore look alike! Happy Birthday!!
Oh and BTW, the wonderful week of b-days will officially end on Monday - My 28th Birthday! :)

Happy Father's Day and Kaden's B-Day

Kevin, you know I think your are such a great father! Here are some pictures of you with the children on the day they wear born and of you giving them baths when they were still brand new. Also there are some pictures of you playing with them. It was so fun looking through pictures of you with the kids. I thought is was nice that I have a picture of you giving each one of them a bath when they were days old. It just reminds me of how much you have always helped me with the kids. Not only does this make me happier and less stressed, but it benefits the kids greatly because "When mommy's happy, everyone is happy!" Also, there are a lot of studies out that prove that children are better adjusted grown ups when they have plenty of dad time. I can see why that's true. You give them so many different things I can't give them when you spend time with them and I appreciate that so much. As for the pics of you playing with them, well they are very appropriate. You always find time to play with them everyday and they have so much fun with you. On the day we met you impressed me so much with how much time you spent playing with your cousins. You always played with our niece Ivy after we were married, and now that we have our own kids you play with them all the time. You're always the one at the park or the family reunion that plays with all the kids and that's not only because of your physical fitness, but it's a gift! Thank you Kevin for all that you teach the kids too! You know about things that I don't and when I hear Audrey or Kyle tell me those things I didn't know, it makes me feel awesome. You are the best Daddy to our children that they could ever have. I love you, Nettie

And to Larry, thanks for being such a great dad to Kevin. You have taught him how to be a calm, patient, easy-going, laid back , yet hard-working man. You have taught him about the outdoors and about being a true handyman. You have taught him the Gospel, about Priesthood duties and missionary work - and to be a missionary. You are a wonderful father-in-law and a fun grandpa! Thank you! Here you are on the day Audrey was born,

The day Kyle was born,

And the day Kaden was born! (Being in the Bishopric and having to shave your facial hair sure has changed your appearance!)

And here we have a video of Kaden the morning of his birthday!

Here's a picture of my adorable new one year old!

Thanks, mom, for the adorable hat for Kaden!

Plus a picture of Uncle Steve, Aunt Mindy and cousins Mike and Josh who came after the video was taken!

Flashback Friday - Kaden Michael

This is perfect because not only is it Friday, but it's Kaden's birthday. So here's a look at his first year on this earth and then on Sunday I'll post about his b-day and celebration, etc.
Once upon a time there was a little trickster of a baby. He made his Mommy's doctor think he was a girl so much that she told his Mom and Dad that it was 100%! Then, on the day he was born, he came out a boy!! Kaden I was so shocked when you were born and I looked down and saw that you were a boy! We thought you were a girl when I was pregnant and called you Amber Paige for 4 months! I immediately fell in love with you, though - of course! You were so sweet and beautiful!

We were all immediately thankful for a baby boy!
(Audrey almost cried when she heard you weren't Amber, but as soon as she saw you, she forgot about it!)

Your brother and sister were so proud of you!

Audrey ALWAYS wanted to hold you. Even when people would stop by to see you, they had their work cut out for them to actually get their turn to hold you!

Kyle was a little put off by someone else getting so much attention and affection. He wasn't always the best he could be with you, but when he was, he was a real kind brother!

You were just the cutest bug!

I just want to grab you out of this picture right now and hold you!!

You were a gem on your blessing day. What a good trooper you have always been with long days! It's not easy being the 3rd child and having so many things going on all the time, not to mention almost living in the van all day - but you don't mind at all!

I have more than one picture of you smiling in your sleep. You have always been the happiest baby I have ever known!

I don't know where you put it, you being the smallest baby out of my 3, but you are a great eater.

Kaden you are so blessed to have a sister and brother who adore you so much!

Every morning Audrey is so excited to see you and it never dwindles throughout the whole day.

Kyle has gotten so much better at being more gentle with you and you have become friends and are able to play together now. He loves to make you laugh.

Kaden I don't know what I would have done this last year without you!

You have brought us all so much joy in our lives. I have honestly never known a baby to be so easy going, satisfied and happy! You bring a smile to all of our faces numerous times a day! Thank you so much for changing our lives for the better. I know that for me personally, you have made a really hard year 1,000 times better for me just because you are such a positive Spirit in this world. I love you so much, Kaden. Love,
MOM

Kyle, you're three!

Even though it's been over a month since Kyle's b-day, it doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about this and working on it since. I've had some roadblocks along the way, but here we are - better late than never!

Once upon a time there was a family made up of a Daddy, Mommy and daughter. When they found out they were going to have a boy, they thought they would be as blessed as can be! One night the Mommy and daughter went to a baby shower for the expected baby. It was only days before the date she would have the baby but her tummy still didn't really stick out! (The mommy was like that both times she carried her two boys!!) The mommy was so excited that the day was getting closer for her to meet her son!

On April, 28th, 2004 Kyle Christopher Hansen came into the world and into the Hansen family's life! Kyle, you were the fastest labor and delivery I had out of all three children! It only took around 3 hours from the time I went to the hospital until you were in my arms! Looking back I think you were anxious for me to hold you! The first year of your life, you preferred me holding you at all times! Sometimes it was hard, but it was nice to be wanted so much and to have so much affection from a sweet baby boy!

Kyle, when you came home, Audrey was so happy to finally have you here! She soon found out you made a great doll for her! She was so good with you. She was gentle and soft and would sing sweet lullabies to you.

This picture was not taken on your blessing day but a few weeks afterwards. (You didn't want smile in your suit that day.) I love this picture! You were such a handsome devil with that huge smile! The day you were born Daddy said you looked like your Uncle Greg and I wasn't sure. But, once you started grinning from ear to ear I saw it right away, and still think so to this day!

Kyle, out of my 3 babies, you were the most cuddly. Oh how I adored you wanting to snuggle and fall asleep in my arms often!

You were such a cute little baldy! To this day, it's still hard to see your eyebrows - you're such an adorable toe-head!

Kyle, you have received some of the cutest hand-me-downs from your cousin Sage and this hat was one of them. What a handsome little guy you were turning out to be!

This picture was taken before you started hating (fearing?) getting your picture taken. The people who took it liked it so much that they made it into a big banner and hung it up outside their store for advertising!

Kyle, this picture is definitely one of my all-time-favorites. This is the tux you wore to Aunt Kellie and Uncle Paul's wedding reception. When I set you up on the couch for a snapshot, you kind of fell and it ended up looking like you were "James Bond" posing yet again in your tux.

What more can I say than you were an angel (when you were asleep)!

Kyle, you were so cute and fun! Your smile can still light up a room!

A year old and Audrey was still playing with her life size doll! You were so good to let her do this.

Pretty soon, before you knew it, Dad and Mom were expecting your baby brother! Your world would turn upside down when he came and there would be a lot of adjustments, but now you two are buddies and you make him laugh everyday.

Here we are today with a big 3 year old. A child who is very smart, fun, funny, athletic, musical, strong and compassionate. We love you, Kyle. You have always been a joy to us and continue to bring us happiness and help us learn and grow as we are blessed to have you in our lives!
