Harry Potter and X-rays

I'm so excited to have gotten my book this afternoon. (I needed something fun to happen this week!) I've only been able to read 4 chapters so far, but I have had A LOT of interruptions.

Yesterday I got to look at my x-rays and let's just say they're not good. I tore almost all of the vertebrae in my neck and it is perfectly straight instead of curved how it should be. I also have some slight scoliosis going down my upper spine. And, my lower back shows degenerative disc disease. The lowest two vertebrae are almost close to touching - the disc btw them has worn away considerably. Now the neck problems are from the wreck. But the other's were there before. I believe mainly from a lot of gymnastics on hard gym floors and grass during my cheerleading days - although it could be genes or other factors. I believe that the accident was a wake up call and happened for a reason. It got me to the chiropractor. I've been going to chiropractor's since I was 16 (during those cheerleading days) on and off. But I only go when I'm in so much pain I can't function. Now that I saw my x-rays again (it's been a few years and they're worse) I know that once the whiplash is gone, I still need to go there for maintenance on my pre-existing problems -so they don't get worse. Why do we sometimes put everyone else first and then have to have a big thing come along to get us to pay attention to ourselves?! I am not doing that again. I vow to take care of myself better from now on. It's only fair to my family to have me in my best condition! Don't you think?!

It's crazy how we all grew up together but never really understood what we all went through outside of church. I knew you cheerleaded and danced but I had no idea how much it affected your body. I hope going to the chiropractor helps and you can start taking care of yourself.

Wow, I am surprised!

I believe it is in our female nature to leave ourselves until last. Sometimes it is hard to see what we need, as everyone elses are so clear.

Take care of yourself!

Cool, I hope the ending of the new potter book will be a good one. I hope the rumours are untrue. My spine was straight instead of a curve after my car accident too. I had to go to the chiropractor for a while. It sure helped me and I hope it helps you too.

Oh my little Nettie! I totally understand! You need to take care of your body not just for your family and yourself, but also for me! I don't want to play bingo in an old fart home without you! It also won't be any fun to take out my teeth and scare small children with them unless you are there to laugh your hee-haw laugh! Please chiropract!
